Rodin in "Unfinished: Thoughts Left Visible"
The inaugural exhibition at the Met Breuer addresses a subject critical to artistic practice: the question of when a work of art is finished. The three white marble sculptures by Auguste Rodin are placed as the crux of the exhibition, alongside the work of Louise Bourgeois and Bruce Nauman. The continuing relevance of Rodin is a theme I explored in 2013 in an exhibition entitled "The Hand of God".
